Julie Chan began her career in the legal field when she started working as a legal assistant at a law firm in Brampton in the civil litigation department, as well as for a family law sole practitioner in Oakville, while obtaining her legal administrative diploma from Sheridan ITAL. After she obtained her diploma at Sheridan, Julie worked as a law clerk exclusively in the area of family law for several years while she continued her education at the University of Toronto. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from U of T in 2009; majoring in Psychology, and minoring in Sociology and Religion. Julie joined Kain & Ball as a law clerk in 2008 while she completed her studies at the University of Toronto. She then went on to attend Bond University Law School in Australia where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree in 2012. When Julie returned to Canada, she was exempted from all accreditation exams, immediately accredited by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and returned to Kain & Ball to complete her articles in 2012-2013. After Julie’s call to the Ontario Bar in June 2013, she returned to Kain & Ball as an associate and continues to use her practical knowledge, education, and years of experience in family law in her career as a lawyer.
